- Pack non essentials; including books, extra linens, random pieces of decorative art, summer clothes, extra jackets (big giant winter jackets), cd's, etc etc
- Buy the list of "Needed Stuff"; including mop, broom, cleaning supplies, curtains and rods, dishes, glasses, plungers, toliet bowl brushes, placemats, shoe rack, garbage cans, etc etc
- Enjoy the fact you have so much to pack and so little time when you factor in work and school and sleep (ignoring the urge to visit with family and friends, workout or eat)
- Pack a little bit more... if you haven't already, make sure you pack the stuff you just buy and remember that the more you buy the more you have to pack
- Get more boxes (since when did we have that much? Oh yeah, see item #2)
- Get quote on Home Owners Insurance.
- Get more boxes; raid all free newspapers so you can secure all breakables you are packing
- Phone to inquire about utilities
- Pray you win the lottery because utilities are gonna kill your bank account
- Start saving money (hopefully you were smart enough to do this earlier)
- Pack. Yes this really is a neverending task. Ensure that your roommates stop touching your stuff or offering that you inherit even more.
- Get more boxes...
- Get a better quote of Home Owners Insurance... Oh wait... you just need contents insurance
- Get Contents Insurance Quotes
- One week before moving day - set up utilities
- Kiss your soon to be home owning partner
- Make a moving day plan (preferable to do 2 days prior to moving day)
- Pack Essentials; including clothes, bathroom stuff etc etc
- Enjoy living out of a suitcase surrounded by boxes
- Get some sleep; you are going to need as much energy for the moving day
- Double check that you have everything packed; scramble if not
- Throw out your moving day plan; stamp your feet and grumble that you want this to be over NOW
- Enjoy being a supervisor and telling all the help you have where and how to move your stuff while you drink your 12th lattee of the day
- Kick everyone out so you and your honey can enjoy some "alone time" with so many boxes, don't forget to say thank you!
- Crawl into bed and give up until tomorrow (its ok if it is only 7pm, you had a long day supervising!)
